Donovan Kelly is one of the Kelly’s of KGI. He’s the computer geek that looks like anything but a geek. He’s as devilishly handsome as his other brothers. He can lead in the war room or in the field. Donovan sees his brothers one by one falling in love and having babies and knows he wants this too but hasn’t found the right woman yet. He’s on the look out for her but not devoting himself to the search, much to his mother’s dismay.

Eve is in her mid twenties and in big trouble. She basically kidnapped her two younger half siblings from the father, her step-father. She knows he killed her mother and made advances on her. Because of her rebuffing him, he has had her declared unstable and alerted the law to her taking of the children. The three so them are on the run from him. They wind up in the Kelly’s hometown and on their radar. When Eve realizes this, she knows they have to run because she can’t afford to trust anyone.

I read a lot of reviews of this book and most of them very unfavorable. I thought the book was okay. It wasn’t the best in the series but it wasn’t the worst either. That honor still belongs to Nathan and Shay’s book. My complaint was that his internal conversations were so damn repetitive that I thought I would scream. I’ve waited for Donovan’s book for awhile, so it not being wonderful was a disappointment but not a total loss either. I’ll still read this series because it’s solid and I did get a catch up on all the other Kellys.

Jared Weston is the head of Titan, a group of black ops men. He’s super controlling but only because he has to be. He’s in charge of these men and their missions. He has always been a no strings attached guy and it’s always been fine with him. Until lately. He realizes that there might be more to him than his missions. He might want something more. When the woman he is interested in gets taken, he gets a jump start to these thoughts and plans.

Sugar is an arms supplier, only to those military types. Most of them are on the up and up. We met Sugar early on in this series and she’s a handful. Spunky and a little bit crass but totally endearing. She’s had her eye an Jared for a long time but his attitude has always kept her at a distance. She’s a modern gal, she enjoys men and what they can do for her sexually. When she goes on a mission, she’s captured. The person who was with her is rescued by Titan but she’s left behind because Titan didn’t know she was there. They do go back and get her though. But Sugar is changed by a meeting she has with a young girl. When she gets home she finds out there is a hit on her and she has to turn to Jared and Titan for help.

Cristin Harber has done it again. What a good book this was. Action, suspense and hot romance. But also, she took a trusted character and made him a traitor. But you still liked the traitor and totally understood his reasons for the actions he took. A great moral dilemma. Do you betray people you care about for those that you love? Wow, this is a really great series!

Alexa is very eager to reconnect with her friend and childhood crush, Ty. She has thought of little else over the years. She’s now a grown woman with grown-up desires. She knows that this trip home is when she is gonna make her move.

I enjoyed this book more than the last one I read. Granted, during a short story the love is instantaneous but I didn’t really mind the rushing of things. I bought into the whole fantasy of love at first sight. This story didn’t have much of a story honestly. But hot sex…WOW, it had that by the boatloads. So far this series has the best quotes. Below are my favorites.

“When you go to your meeting tomorrow or whatever tomorrow evening, your pussy will ache and you won’t remember a time when my cock wasn’t fucking you.”

“You see more in me than I see in myself, and for that, I want to be the person you think I am.”

I can’t wait to read the rest of this series!
