It’s taken me a few days to get my thoughts clear enough to write a review.

This story is about Ripper and Danny. Ripper is one of Danny’s dad’s bikers in his MC. Danny is a biker princess much like her stepmother, Eva. Her upbringing hasn’t always been sunshine and roses though. Her parents’ marriage was an elongated disaster and she and her brother just kind of floated through it. Living within club life was difficult but really all she knew. She loved Ripper for a long time and my god, the road was bumpy.

After Ripper’s torture at the hands of a mad man, he was in a self destruct mode. He drank more and whored more than usual. One drunken night he and Danny went too far and everything was fubar from that point on. He never felt he was good enough for her and acted out. They kept their relationship secret much to the horror of Danny who wanted to shout it from the rooftops. I get why Ripper wanted to keep it a secret. Her dad would’ve killed him had he known. In an attempt to save her from his world, he takes off to parts unknown, leaving Danny to deal with the backlash of their relationship.

Very emotional situations take place in this book. I liked both characters but wanted to slap them both, as you often do in this series. But you just keep right on reading. It must be what crack is like because I just can’t stop. Seriously, it’s my latest obsession. I haven’t been this excited or hooked on a series in a loooong time. I think about it constantly. It still tests my lines but I just can’t quit.

I’m truly at a loss for words with this review. I think I need a mind scrub and maybe a visit to confession. I’m not Catholic and I’m not making light of religion but I may need some prayer time after this.

Deuce West is an outlaw biker. He lives this lifestyle with no apologies at all. He likes what he does. The drinking, the illegal stuff and the whoring. He has a meeting with Eva Fox when she is visiting her father in prison. Her father is a President of a rival but friendly motorcycle club. Eva is five at their first meeting and when she charms Duece’s father at his visit with him, he’s taken with her. Not a perverted kind of way either. He’s intrigued because she, at age five, listens to classic rock, wears Chucks and wants to be a motorcycle club queen. Duece is eighteen years her senior.

This story continues to span these two character’s lifespans. It usually skips ahead by five to seven years.

The things I liked:

The slow build of their relationship. The all consuming attraction. The look inside of the outlaw biker lifestyle, if this is an accurate description. The suspense of the book. The desire of the heroine to try and save everyone around her even as she stays true to what she is.

The things I didn’t like:

Deuce is married through most of the book. The constant infidelity of almost every character.

This book was an interesting book to read. Good character development. It sucked me right in and didn’t let go. Even when the storylines butted right up to and through my hard limits. If you want a raw, gritty, dirty, and emotional love story, read it. But be prepared for all that it is and that it makes no apologies for it.

Nicole is a straight laced and straight A college student. She hears this loud noise when she’s waiting for her roommate, Lucy to come home. Lucy is a bit of a free spirit and wild as they come. Lucy has spent the evening with a group of bikers and tells Nicole all about it. Nicole has a boyfriend that might or might not be gay and dreams of having a man that would make her feel attractive and wanted. She suggests that maybe she’ll go with Lucy the next time she hangs out with the bikers.

After the break up with her boyfriend, who I’m sure is gay, she agrees to go out with Lucy. Nicole is very excited but nervous, especially after Lucy has slutted up their outfits for the night. She is about to back out when she hears the roar of motorcycles. She then sees Jase, the VP, not that she knows what VP means in biker speak. He’s a very hot man. She gets on the back of his bike and off they go.

This is a very short prelude to this series. I enjoyed it and will probably read on depending on the price of the other books. I’m on a bit of a biker bing lately and I’m devouring books in that genre. Maybe it’s because Sons of Anarchy is over for the season but whatever the reason, I’m having a blast.
