Rebecca’s boyfriend can check off every item on her perfect-boyfriend list, but maybe one of those checks should have read “sexually compatible.”  Despite a lack luster bedroom life, Rebecca is determine to make the relationship work.  When he suggests she join him on a weekend vacation with his swingers group (a group she didn’t know about), she reluctantly agrees to give it a try.  She quickly decides the swinging lifestyle is not for her.  She actually finds herself drawn to lodge owner Logan and his dominant ways.  He doesn’t meet any of the requirements on her list, but he’s strong and assertive and makes her feel comfortable and safe.

Logan has been plagued by horrible nightmares since he returned from the war.  His brother has the scar to prove that it’s not safe for Logan to fall asleep around anyone.  So Logan knows his relationship with Rebecca will only last until the end of the weekend.  Despite the limited time frame, he wants to help Rebecca explore her submissive nature.

This was the first BDSM romance I read and I loved it.  It is not terribly intense as far as the BDSM goes.  Commands, restraints, and some anal play.  No intense pain in this one.  I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys reading BDSM without a focus on pain or anyone new to the BDSM romance world.

Nick Gautier is continuing to realize just exactly how hard life can be for a teenager. His girlfriend needs to kill him, his dad wants to kill him, so does his protector, he’s still ostracized at school and his mom is still as strict as ever. On the plus side, his mom loves him, he has good friends he can trust, which include Ash and Kyrian, the most popular girl in school wants to date him and he gets his driver’s license.

Anybody who has ever read Sherrilyn Kenyon’s Dark Hunter series should read this one too. It’s the story of Nick’s teenage life as it melds with the future. Nick is to become the ultimate evil as an adult. It’s kind of like prophecy. As the reader, we get glimpses of the future with a evil Nick and they are horrific at best. This series is the constant battle he has to be good and not turn evil. There’s even a little bit of romance thrown in. I love this series and this book was no exception. The relationship between Nick and his mother is just so sweet. I loved this book and wish I didn’t have wait a year for the next one!

Knight Sebring is an enigma. Really, he is. He’s a kid from the streets, who had a prostitute for a mother and never knew his biological father. He has a wonderful stepfather and a ass of a half brother. He is a successful night club owner, has a beautiful home and a endless supply of female attention.

Anya Gage is a struggling but hard working young woman. Orphaned at a young age and raised by a hateful and neglectful aunt, she’s never known love since her parents’ deaths. She’s had only herself to rely on financially. Thankfully, she has a wonderful best friend, Vivica.

These two people meet at a party and the pages of this novel light on fire, full force. No slow build up for them. Blazing attraction and the love scenes, the love scenes, OMG, blistering! I think I fell a little for Knight. No, I know I did. He’s alpha to the point of punching him in the throat but it is also the most endearing thing about him. You learn a lot about the pasts of these characters and how it has molded them into who they are.

There were two things I didn’t care for in the book though. First, the use of the “C” word was too repetitious for me. Secondly, Anya calling Knight “Daddy” in bed was honestly gross to me. Kristen Ashley is magnificent at writing love scenes and leading alpha males. I love what I have read from her and will continue to read much more from her in the future.
